random thoughts

I'm nearing the 5,000 mark on reasons why I need to get better.

  1. Fat Tuesday falls on Super Tuesday. Coincidence? I think not. Paczkis are super.

  2. Perspective. Target looks a lot different when you're riding around in a motorized scooter cart thingy. Those racks are so dang high.

  3. How did "Eat, Pray, Love" become a #1 New York Times bestseller?

  4. I heart the Design Happens blog.

  5. I hate purling.

  6. Even with all the drugs in the world, I still can't get 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep.

How's your day going?

off Target

Slave to Target was asking for guest bloggers.

And luckily, she said "yes" to me!! Hooray!

I guess when I talk about my endcap obsession, my love for the red box really comes across.

Unfortunately though, my first post on the blog was something not-so-favorable about my favorite store. You can find it here. Go and take a look!

um...ah...yeah...

My friend, Todd, first mentioned this a while back with the Dora model. But I never thought I would have one in our home.

It all began with an innocent trip to the neighborhood big red box. We needed hangers and some Valentine's Day cards for Amara's class. My curiosity was peaked when I realized it was close to the time that the Global Bazaar would go on markdown. So Amara and I headed towards the back of the store where the beautiful worldly goods were. So as I shopped (BTW, GB is 30% off now), Amara took a look at the toy section and came to me with what she wanted to purchase -- a Spongebob Aquapet.

Seemed innocent enough. Until we took the toy out of its -- excuse the pun -- packaging.

I can't even look at this thing without laughing.
today's good: I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but I am spearheading a new initiative for work. I have a Monday morning deadline for its first phase and I've rocked and rolled today! Go Mom2Amara go!
today's bad: I don't think our family has caught a break in 2007. Dad2Amara's grandmother has taken a turn for the worse. We knew this day would come, but honestly, Grandma2Amara is bit of a drama queen so I thought this was another one of her feeble attempts of exaggeration. I was wrong. Great-grandma2Amara on her dad's side is not doing well. Please keep her in your prayers.

what, no Target for a year?!

I saw this story this morning and laughed.

What would Amara do on our Mommy-and-Amara-days?!

"Target" was one of Amara's first words. She recognized the big red box before most other things in her world.

And to think 3,000 people out there decided that they didn't need to buy anything new for a year? I'd go through withdrawals! Amara would go through withdrawals! Given a choice, Amara would surely choose visiting Target over other activities!

I could live without Dillard's and White House Black Market but don't take away our Target!

These people are insane!

today's good: I ate a sweet and salty breakfast bar that actually tasted yummy! So simple I am today, I know!
today's bad: I think my alarm clock hates me. Or my body hates my alarm clock. Whatever it is, I can't seem to wake up with enough time to get ready in the morning! Grrrr!

have I died & gone to heaven?

Is it true? Is Target really selling Dolce & Gabbana perfumes?

D&G is my signature scent. It's all I've worn since high school.

So imagine my surprise when I opened the weekly ad to see that gift sets were now available for a limited time only. So you know I went to Target for the third time in two days to buy a gift set.

First Issac, then Paul & Joe, and now Rafe and D&G (albeit just perfumes but D&G nonetheless.

Target rocks. And this must be heaven.

still lonely

Amara went to bed waaaaay earlier than normal. And dear hubby still out of town.

So in the absence of any company -- besides psycho dog and Lady Katrina -- I went online to console myself and bought a pair of these.

I think I feel better now.
