Karmela - Yea, I've done traffic in Atlanta and Chi-town and it's nowhere like traffic here. Traffic here is quite tame. And yes, the snooze button is my friend too. Actually it's more like a lifeline these days.

My husband gets up at 5:30, but he doesn't really commute, he walks the dog, runs or bikes, lucky, huh? The scream "Moooooooommy!" from the kids' room is my alarm every morning. For a year and a half now, I have been working from home. Gets lonely, but I will take that over commute any day. Oh yeah, I don't sleep until 12:30 or 1am, so I rely on caffeine too.

Oh, and you folks think you have "heavy" traffic? (**insert insane, sleep-deprived laugh here**) I challenge you to come to D.C. and navigate our Beltway. This morning, I had a 1-hour 13-mile commute. I don't keep knives in my car specifically so I don't accidentally slit my wrists or poke my eyes out in frustration.

My alarm blares at 6:15 am but I don't actually get up until about 6:35 am. The snooze button is my friend. I frequently go to bed at 1 am, sometimes 2, because after the kids go to bed (around 8 pm), I do chores for about an hour, then I sit my ass on the chair and write like a maniac until my eyes get crossed and my fingers bleed.

At my house, my husband is the commuter. He gets up at 4:30 so that he can prepare for trial each morning. We don't sleep in separate rooms, but sometimes I think that we might as well!

I wake up at 5:55 am & leave the house by 6:15ish to be at work at 7am....that is when I do go to work! Surprisingly, the traffic is already getting heavy at that time.
